The Oath

Major Rafe DeChambeau, USMC, is on loan to the CIA as a multi-language field officer. The novel starts in the present day with Rafe as an ethics instructor at the US Naval Academy, where he runs afoul of the Defense Department and a senior US senator over the separation of church and state. Banned to Kazakhstan, he plunges into a search for missing nuclear weapons while meeting a number of beautiful women. Captain Lisha Zhi, a Chinese intelligence officer, Major Sasha Gurin, Russian FSB and Captain Lucie Sejour, French intelligence, represent both pleasure and problems as Rafe deals with multiple challenges in hotspots such as Nigeria, China, Venezuela, Yemen, Mali, Djibouti, Poland and the Baltic. Caught between assassins and moles, his survival depends on his martial skill and wits. Nothing is as it seems to be. Multiple challenges concerning right from wrong, lawful and unlawful orders and an oath to the Constitution versus a leader earn him the unflattering nickname of "Boy Scout."
